Notice to all interested parties that the U15 & U17 tournaments will commence on Friday January 28th 2011 at the Belize City Center. The BDBA has extended the registration deadline for those wishing to participate. Teams now have until Wednesday 19th January to register.

As a result of the kind sponsorship of Belize Telemedia, team registration is free. All participating teams will be provided with uniform tops and one FIBA certified leather basketball.

Please note that Central region includes all teams based in Belize City, the surrounding villages, San Pedro and Caye Caulker. The BDBA wants to take this opportunity to welcome the participation of our young ballers and coaches from the villages and cayes.

Players born January 1 1996 and after can participate in the U-15 tourney. Players born January 1 1994 and after qualifies for the U-17 tourney. Teams must provide valid identification of each player; a copy of a player social security card, birth certificate or passport must be submitted with the registration form.

The U-15 tourney will have a maximum of 12 teams divided into two categories playing a single round robin regular season. The top two teams from each category will advance to playoffs to find a champion who will represent Central Region in the Nationals tourney slated for Orange walk in May 2011. A similar format will be used for the U-17 tourney.
