St. John’s College is the 2011 Belize Math Olympiad Champion

 

Math Olympiad

(Belmopan, March 9, 2011) The University of Belize Gymnasium in Belmopan roared with excitement during the National Championship of the 2011 Belize Math Olympiad. At the end of the game, St. John's College, with team members Einar Marin, Yun-Te Teng, Aaron Stock and Romel Rudon, won this year's Belize Math Olympiad earning their second title as National Champions since 2007 with an impressive 4,399 points.

Corozal Community College came in second with a total score of 1,701, whilst St. Catherine Academy scored 399 points positioning them in third place.

The game saw the participation of 5 regional finalists: Belize Christian Academy, Corozal Community College, Julian Cho Technical High School, St. Catherine Academy, and St. John's College.

The Belize Math Olympiad is an annual educational program proudly sponsored by the Social Security Board as part of its mission to contribute to national development.
