KREM now the official station for BPFL’s Caribbean Motors Cup tournament

The five-year agreement that was formalized with the signing, was already in effect beginning on Sunday, September 5, with the live broadcast on Krem Radio of the BPFL game at the MCC Grounds between F.C. Belize and San Pedro Sea Dogs in Week 1 of the 2010-2011 Caribbean Motors Cup Opening Season tournament.

Sunday’s Krem broadcast marked the end of a three-year long self-imposed Krem exile from the football broadcast scene. Fans can now look forward to Krem Radio and soon Krem television broadcast of a selected Caribbean Motors Cup game each week during the life of the agreement.

About KREM
The idea for the KREM Radio station originated in early 1979 while Rufus X and I were visiting New Orleans. There was a New Orleans deejay I liked, by the name of Sister Love, and one day Rufus and his cousin, Sam Wiley, who was our host, showed me the building where the radio station which featured Sister Love was located. It was quite a modest, one flat structure, much smaller than the three story Albert Cattouse Building from where the Belize government monopoly station – Radio Belize – was broadcasting.
