krem radioAn important time change is coming to KREM Radio’s dynamic programming starting Monday, September 16, 2013.

Effective Monday, KREM’s evening newscast will switch from the 6:00 p.m. time slot to 5:15 p.m.

Management is hopeful that this move will allow them to service the many commuters who are out of the office and in their ride of choice by 5:15.
The move has also been occasioned by the advent of KREM TV’s nightly news, which also airs live in the 6:00 p.m. time slot.

According to KREM’s News Editor Marisol Amaya, the time change is an exciting opportunity and challenge since she and her staff will have to be even more efficient in getting a quality news product to their listeners ahead of all others in the industry.

As Belize’s first private radio station, KREM Radio continues to blaze trails and implement changes that will make their news package and programs even better.

About KREM
The idea for the KREM Radio station originated in early 1979 while Rufus X and I were visiting New Orleans. There was a New Orleans deejay I liked, by the name of Sister Love, and one day Rufus and his cousin, Sam Wiley, who was our host, showed me the building where the radio station which featured Sister Love was located. It was quite a modest, one flat structure, much smaller than the three story Albert Cattouse Building from where the Belize government monopoly station – Radio Belize – was broadcasting.
